I think these socks are the perfect accessory for this time of year – whether you’re heading into spring or autumn, they’ll keep you a comfy temperature and looking good!
In terms of inspiration, I was heavily influenced by Art Deco architecture for this design – hence an arching and geometric central lace panel with decorative cable columns. Despite its complex appearance, you’ll be surprised how intuitive, quick and fun the pattern is to knit. And not only does the name for these socks reference history, but is also a great song! I’ve had Cyndi Lauper stuck in my head for weeks! 😛
Lace + cables = possibly my new favourite combo!
I used Circus Tonic Handmade yarn on Revelry Sock in the Western Whipbird colourway for these socks, and if you missed my interview with the amazing Hannah who is the dyer behind Circus Tonic, you can read it here. Don’t forget to swing by her shop update tomorrow on Friday 3rd of March as there’ll be lots of semi-solid/tonal colourways available, perfect for knitting these socks up in! And while you’re there, why not enter the coupon code Jess10 to receive 10% off your order!
Finally, to celebrate the release, I’m offering 20% off the pattern until midnight March 4th Adelaide time with the coupon code CIRCUSTONIC. Just enter it as you’re checking out on Ravelry!
